Notes
Variations: For a richer flavor, consider adding 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger to the spice mixture. You can also add a cream cheese swirl by dolloping small spoonfuls of cream cheese mixed with a bit of sugar on top of the batter before baking and swirling it with a knife.
Tips for Preparation/Serving: Ensure the ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter. Let the bread cool completely before slicing for easier handling and cleaner cuts. It tastes even better the next day. It can also be lightly toasted.
Intolerances/Allergies: This recipe contains gluten, eggs, and may contain nuts if added. For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free flour blend. For a vegan option, replace the eggs with flax eggs (1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons of water per egg).
Adjustments: Adjust the spices according to taste. If you prefer a less sweet bread, reduce the sugar by 1/4 cup. Add or substitute other kinds of nuts for your preference, use dried cranberries instead of raisins.
